Citibank - is it only me or are they appalling?

Are they the worst ever for account opening or is it just me ????
Opened an account with them probably about 6-10 months ago. Never managed ot complete the process of setting it up: had a mare on their website, emailed them for help, never had any response. Gave up.
Moved house. Citibank again launches a good account. Apply. Get my activitation card etc. Phone to get activated. They can't find my details. After much toing and froing put on hold. Give up after 50 minutes. Phone back, promise that they will look into it and get back to me within 24 hours. That was 3 days ago.
DO THEY ACTUALLY WANT CUSTOMERS?????
Now I'm going ot have to write to them and aks them to remove any details they have on me on the system. What a waste of space.

Somebody posted similar a couple of days back.
To balance this, I recently opened an account, same process as you, and it went fine.0 -

I've never had any problems with them.Stompa0

I found them incredibly slow to open my account. I had to chase several times. Once open everything was fine.0

Apart from one long wait on the phone my account opening went smoothly. It's a shame they don't do Faster Payments but payments in and out have gone smoothly and their website has always worked reliably for me.

In my experience, they are the worst I have ever dealt with. They come off as a total mickey mouse operation. I wouldn't trust them with a single pound of my money.0

Meanwhile, back in the States...

I received two letters by mail from Citibank yesterday. One said that because I always paid my account on time and that I was such a great customer they were increasing my credit limit. The next letter I opened stated that Citibank was raising my interest rate from the current 18.99% to 29.99%.
Some commentators think Citibank is in trouble...For the avoidance of doubt: I work for an IFA.0 -
I have an account with them, because the rate suits me, but my wife never had hers opened, because they wouldn't accept a document validated at the PO as proof of identity. OK fair enough, but the validation cost about £8 and she didn't have the document returned, despite asking for it.
It's service like that which makes one less than impressed. Their loss: DW is getting a much better deal elsewhere on a fix, since she'll no longer need the money quickly. I shall close my account when the special rate ends.0
