Modified Car Insurance for an Under 25

Does anyone know where I would be able to purchase modified car insurance for myself.

I am 22 years old been driving for 5 years and have recently had a peugeot 206 converted from a van into a car (bascially added seats to back) but am struggling to find car insurance as I am under 25.

Any ideas on where I could get a decent price insurance for the car otherwise im looking at selling the car.

Thanks

    1) Why would buy a Peugeot 206?
    2) Why would you buy a van to conver to a car...

As for insurance. Its bound to be high as 206's are basically buckets.

That's a bit mean, the poor bloke already has the vehicle so is looking for insurance on it, not critism on his choice of vehicle.

    1) Because I like peugeot 206's. Surely this is just personal preferance.

    2) Because the peugeot van is exactly the same body shape as the car it is no different apart from not having any back seats! Plus it was cheaper than buying a "normal" peugeot 206 that I was going to modify anyway (changing body kit, interior style, colour etc)

Also it would make no difference if I was over 25 but because im not its proving difficult to get insurance.

Thanks everyone else for your advice, ringing around the people suggested for quotes now.

Will it be cheaper at the end of the day?

You have gone off half !!!! on this one by the sounds OP. As most of us could very well do ourselves.

Hope you find a reasonable insurer.

The Insurance for this vehicle is going to be pretty hefty, the combination of a modified vehicle and being a converted van will not be attractive to Insurers. It is likely any Insurers who are prepared to offer cover will want an engineers report (At your cost) confirming the added seats are safe and have been installed correctly.
