Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
This is a bit of a mess, Daughter moved into a house in June, she got a 'to the occupier' bill straight away from Scottish power so she rang them to let them know she was the new occupier and arranged direct debit payments for both gas and electric. That started ok, they took 2 payments for gas and 1 payment for electric and then the debits stopped and no bills sent. She rang them to ask what was happening a couple of weeks ago to be told her accounts were closed and now with another supplier, this was done without her request.

They have been taken over with scottish and southern now for more than 28 days so they said they couldnt take it back. They have said both gas and electric is with scottish and southern.

I rang scottish and southern to see what was happening and am told the electric was taken back again only 7 days after my daughter moved in yet shes paid 2 months to scottish power for it by direct debit, we will have to get that back but no reading was taken on the day it was took over. The gas was taken over on 31st July but they have told me this is a dead account there is nothing there whatsoever so it does not have an account number or name to it but its with them. Also 1 month has been paid to scottish power for that too but that one will probably be about right.

It turns out the landlady put them in to go over to scottish and southern before my daughter moved in and it got messed up.

What we want to do now is seeing as the gas and elec have been taken over without our concent my daughter wants to try and move back to scottish power but by herself not by letting them do it so she can take advantage of the cashback being offered by them at the moment but now we have found out it was in the landladys name what possition is my daughter in because they have now put the elec into my daughters name but will it still be classed as being with them for over 28 days as it was in the landladys name before that? Its just in order to move she will have to have been with thm for over 28 days

The big offer for scottish electric is only on till Sunday and she only has an account number in her name for the electric scottish and southern has said it will take at least a week for this to be made into an account so can she move and get the cashback while in this possition please?
Thanx

She can arrange to move her account as she gets a cooling off period of 14 days (as far as I remember), before Scottish Power even contact SSE to let them know she wants to move.

If the account hasn't been set up within the week (with SSE) then just phone Scottish Power and cancel the move.

In response to above, would advise your daughter to go for it. if she prefers, the number for scottish power is 0800 400 200.

    Cheers
