Car insurance I ve been taken for a ride

Hi
I have a driving licence since 1995, May. That was a Romanian licence.
I have changed in in January 2008 for a british insurance.

I asked for a quote from Post Office and they gave me a great price based on my years of experience. A month later they called me and said I am lying and that I only had a british licence for a year and they doubled up my premium.

Does anyone know if this is right? Years of experience count from the date you had you original licence? Changing a licence is a normal thing.

    Hi there

Not sure on this, so bumping this up for you so someone with knowledge of this will post up with some useful advice for you, good luck.;)
The one and only "Dizzy Di" :D
  • on the licence itself at point 4.a date is 10/01/08 (that means licence valid from) but on the back at point 10 the date is 31-05-95

Romania is in the EE so I just exchanged the licence. I did not need to give an exam. It s just like changing a paper licence for a photo one.

Surely on the back is the correct date from when I was licenced to drive and that counts for the years of experience.
