New House, new ideas, new decor ..... but whole house painted internally with what looks to be Vinyl Silk result being that whatever we paint the walls with, the following morning the paint has cracked and looks like dried mud ('crazing')!!
Have been advised by experts that Zinsser Bulls Eys 1-2-3 should be applied as a primer before applying the top coat, but it costs the equivalent of £10 per litre so ain't cheap (but better than sanding the walls I s'pose!!).
Is there an alternative cheaper primer that can be used and cures the 'crazing' problem?

It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!

I take it your trying to paint the walls matt.
If so apply a coat of soft sheen over the silk followed by your coat of matt.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Not sure of this job but this stuff is great, I used it on a wooden ceiling over varnish and its sticks its dries very quickly applied two coats and tow coats of white dulux emulsion no problems in 2 years since painting, a decorator told me its brilliant stuff but not cheap0

Without seeing it it is hard to say but I would use one of these products..
this cheaper one is solvent based but will be stong smelling.

This one is water based little odour but is more expensive.

I also know a 25% off voucher offer is coming up in the next few weeks at our local DDC store, so worth a phone call to find out if this is nationwide!!0
