Travel insurance and breast cancer

A friend of mine had breast cancer more than 5 years ago and has been given the all clear. She's looking at an annual multi-trip policy and is wondering if her breast cancer counts as a pre-existing condition? I personally think not as the specialist told her that after 5 clear years she is no more likely than anyone else to get another cancer.

Advice gratefully received.
Trying hard to be a good moneysaver.

I would mention it then you're covered, some insurance companies may just want to know and some may charge extra, shop about and see what the general concensus is, better safe than sorry in my book, no good finding out when your insurance is null and void that you should have declared it.

I have annual insurance, a few years ago I had an abnormal mammogram and had to have a biopsy - which thankfully came back clear.

But the policy says to let them know about any change in circumstances so I rang them and explained the situation.
They sent out a policy that excluded 'breast biopsy' - they didn't have a clue about what it was.

But, that fell off the policy after a year.

So, your friend should declare that she has had breast cancer but is now clear.
Then there is no comeback should she ever need to make a claim.
Insurance companies will seize on the slightest thing to try to get out of paying claims.
