How to stop web site charges

I cant cancel a website subscription and want to figure out a way to stop getting charged without cancelling my credit card account. If I report the card stolen and get a new card with a different number would this stop it getting charged?

Sounds like a continuous payment authority.
The only way to stop it is to cancel at source (the website)0
