0845 numbers

Hi ... just wondering if someone could help me on this one.

I have just got my phone bill in, and I was amazed to see that I have been charged for making 0845 numbers.

I am a BT customer, but I thought that 0845 calls were free from BT landlines. Could someone confirm this to me, or am I getting mixed up with another number?

Thanx in advance

With exceptions, they're inclusive (like 01/02/03 calls are) in plan.

Hence, if you're on BT's Unlimited Weekend plan, they're inclusive at weekends, if you're on their Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan, they're inclusive weekday evenings and at weekends and, if you're on their Unlimited Anytime Plan, they're inclusive at all times.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • Dont use them - simples

Use the website Say no to 0870 and find the local numbers instead....free calls that way!!

Just like inclusive calls to 01/02/03 etc there is a maximum of 60 minutes per call per call before you car charged.

But, in addtion, there is a maximum of 150 calls per month to 0845/0870 numbers OR 1000 minutes per month to 0845/0870 numbers.

My job means I am on the phone ALL day to 0845 numbers (each call max. 30 minutes), hence I am with Talk Talk!

Talk Talk's free 0845/0870 calls is better than BT's as it does not have the 150 calls/month or 1000 minutes/month limitations.

    Thanks for that guys :T

I now know ... how I got the idea that they were now free I don't know. I use it to call the CSA, so won't be doing that now until evening and weekends.

    Many Thanks, again.
