Hi everyone,
this is my first post so please be gentle with a thicko! its took me a while to build up the courage to post such an embarrasing question. :embarasse
I have got a technika 32" lcd tv which i have had for a couple of months but I am getting to the stage where i want to chuck it out of the window and you will probably laugh at the reason...... I can't turn it on :rotfl:
Has anyone else got this tv, if so can you give me a step by step toddler speak to how you turn yours on please? I am not sure if its faulty or me just missing something completely that is staring me in the face.

Plug it in, you should see a red LED showing that its on standby.
Make sure your remote has new batteries and either press a numbered button or the red power button, it has a circle with a line though it.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Has it worked in the past or is this the first time you have tried to power it on ?0

Some tvs need you to HOLD the ON button down rather than just press it:idea:0

thanks for the responses, it happens 9/10 times i try to turn it on, it seems to need to 'catch' to get it on, there isn't a red button on the tv, only a blue light which comes on when you switch on at the wall then starts flashing, if it starts flashing then i can't do anything at all, either using the buttons on the tv or the remote which works fine when i can get the tv on so its not the batteries.
I do hold the button too, its a nice tv when i can get it on but you can't walk in the room say at 7pm to watch emmerdale and switch the tv on, it can take half an hour of keep switching on and off at the wall which i am worried its going to blow the socket or the tv if i keep doing that :eek:0 -
It sounds faulty - we've got the 37" version - the blue light is on when the tv is on standby and then when you select a channel no. on the remote the tv comes on and the blue light goes out. We've never had our blue light flashing.xxx Nikki xxx0

thanks Nikki, I wondered if it was faulty, will get in touch with tesco and see what they say0

We have a problem with our tv too. It continually flashes the blue light when on standby and buttons on our remote (source) only sometimes work, however sometimes they dont work at all. Is it a faulty tv?0

Classic symptoms of a power board problem. £250 to get it done or £1 from Maplin's if you can do it yourself.
One warning - don't leave it too long before replacing the capacitors it can quickly compromise the EEPROM and although they are cheap, they are very hard to get re-programmed for any particular model.
- starts flashing then i can't do anything at all - means that it does not yet have enough power [ in the capacitors ] to boot and read the EEPROMDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
