I'm not sure sorry, hope someone will be along to help soon.August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61

The carers allowance is based on income support values which change each year.
This year the full carers allowance is £60.50 for under 11's. I think for 11-13 year olds this is reduced by 25% to £45.37, and then for 13-15 it is reduced by 50% to £30.25. For children over 16 there is no carers allowance.
However the amounts aren't reduced automatically when each child reaches a certain age, you need to request a reassessment - which may or may not reduce the maintenance.0 -
Thought £60.50 was last financial year. Isn't it £64.30 this year?SEPT 2008 - The CSA is responsible for collecting money in 553,800 out of 1,247,100 cases. In 442,000 of these cases the Resident Parent is on Benefits and so apart from £10 each, the money paid by each Non-Resident Parent goes to the Government and not the Resident Parent. The CSA collected £68.6m. Is the Govt. erasing child proverty? You decide!0

Oh yes, quite possibly!

thank u all for ur replies. my assessment says she needs total child allowances = £56.11, carer allowance = £48.23 and premiums = £17.30. then minus £20 child benefit.
in the leaflet i got it says that a 8year old needs £47.45 personal allowance. i was wondering how come a 13year old needed more than a 8year old????0 -
Is that allowance per month or week?0

that is per week0

The weekly personal allowance for a child is the same - it doesn't matter how old they are. It's only the carers allowance that can change with age.
I think the leaflet you have received with your assessment is showing out of date figures - is it page 13 talking about "Lisa"?
If so, I have no idea why the CSA can't update their booklets each year - this booklet is dated October 2008 but the figures contained in it don't seem to relate to 2008 at all
