Where can I sell a vintage real-fur coat? The fur is from a now protected species - snow leopard - and I'd prefer not to sell on ebay.

You may not be able to sell it at all, as it's from a protected species.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
Before I found wisdom, I became old.0 -
I don't think anyone would buy it to wear nowadays as they'd probably get a lot of abuse.
And quite rightly so in my opinion.
What about offering it to a local theatre group for their wardrobe department or something like that.0 -
You could try one of the Vintage clothing shops down Portobello road, or maybe one of the Camden shops but they are a bit low rent in the vintage field.
What size and style is it? I may be able to point you in a more specific direction.0 -
It fits a size 14 easily. Is probably what would have been called 3/4 length and is circa 1953 has a wide collar and pockets. Definitely French made.
I found it in my grandmother's house in Paris in 1983.0 -
Best place for it is the bin.0

No doubt you'd do the same with the Turin Shroud!0

First of all you need to check the legal position. A rare fur dealer in London was arrested for selling a Snow Leopard coat, so matters are not straightforward.
Whoever gives you guidance on the legality of the sale should be able to suggest suitable markets......................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

You could , perhaps, sell it on Ebay in another country where different opinions are held.0

I think it is illegal to sell a protected species fur and if you did list it on ebay it would probably be removed see link below.

Which is why I suggested selling it on Ebay in another country!0
