My Kaspersky session has just thrown up a msg like "Behaviour detected similar to PDM.keylogger"
What is this? What does it do? Am I safe to use the PC?
How do I deal with the alert?
I note in total I have "4 threats" - all in the category "Riskware"
Please advise, I'm worried

A keylogging program records your keystrokes to capture passwords and credit card nos etc. Kaspersky will advise you what to do with this program which is normally to quarantine it.
it may be a false postive as it only said 'behaviour similar'.
Might be as well to check your virus patterns are updating and then do a full manual scan though. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION') - this will check for nasties
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
UPDATE and FULL SCAN
Post the log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click DO A SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE (Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log):idea:0 -
I have just had same message from kapersky ..no advice coming up about what to do !! Hope its ok if I post a log too !
eta - bit more info when googling - kaspersky forums came up - http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=1544360 -
Simple take Kasperkys advice and clean them run full scan after updating Kaspersky .
Its simply Kaspersky anticipated a threat from signature like .
Some legitimate programs may show behavior like and if they are new will be flagged as possible danger feedback will report as legitimate and threat is removed for that item .

Whilst this is good advice in general there is no need to do anything like this as Kaspersky has already identified the problem and will be able to rectify it.one of the famous 50
