Common misconception. Their collect in store prices are often comprable to the internet and sometimes cheaper.

I am so so so annoyed. I went into PC world in Leeds city centre after work (it closes at 7 on Thursdays) and asked to buy a 2 gig usb stick. I got a new member of staff, I had to guide them through the PC world website to it and he said 'no, that's 512mb, the 2gig is 59.99' so I left it. Just checked and it's 29.99! So annoyed because I really wanted one :(

Just goes to show. You can be as cheap as you like but if your staff are thick you'll still lose sales.

At the risk of going against perceived wisdom I have to stand up for PCW. They usually are expensive but every now and again they surprise you. My Samsung laser printer/scanner/photocopier only cost me £49.99. They once cleared out their FX5700Ultra graphics cards for £39.99 each when everywhere else they were £100+, and last year they had BOGOF on all their PC Chart games which made for some cracking deals, because they also reduced them to £19.99 each so my kids all got copies of Half-Life 2 for less than a tenner a copy.
I often find that their buy and collect prices are good and if I ever have problems with hardware they refund or replace immediately with no questions asked. Anyone who's ever tried to get a refund from Aria for a defective memory chip would appreciate that sort of service.
Sometimes you have to accept that being able to pop into a shop and look at what you intend to buy is going to cost more.
You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.
