Laura Ashley Frustration

My 75 yr old mum bought a duvet set from Laura Ashley - which after washing once looked like a limp rag, after complaining they sent it off to (thier own) analyist who said it was "fair wear and tear" which is quite ridiculous as it was only washed once - my mum has a speech difficulty so is compromised and is about to give up on persuing a refund. Im disgusted with their response, they are obviously trying to save costs by not offering a refund but we dont know where to go next - she cant really afford an independant test for the duvet - any suggestions as to how proceed would be much appreciated

I today also returned a quilt cover to Next as all the embroidered leaf pattern stitching was coming undone in several places. I had not even washed the quilt cover as I just laid it over the top of my old duvet cover. They would not give me a refund nor even on to a gift card but said they only thing I could do was chose something in store then. I am too like your mum not very happy with this decision. I feel that I should have been given a refund like your mum but was too timid today to argue the case. Anyone else had this happen with duvet covers? By the way I had my receipt but because it was from the Lakeside Store this affected their decision.0
