in Credit cards
Hi, I was wondering if there is any template letter that I could send to the credit card companies asking them to reduce payments etc on behalf of my 80 year old father?. Up untill a 2004 he was an active pensioner working part time, but now can't because of Cancer and 3 strokes. I'm looking for them to at least suspend the interest or reduce monthly payments so I can get his financial affairs back in order. He has around £10,000 in debt from the same company, one as a loan and another as a credit card.

I'm sorry no one could help, I really am surprised that no one has come to help.
I dont see any reason why you cant ask them to suspend or reduce payments.

You may find that they wont speak to you as they may ask for a written letter of authority from your father or a power of attorney. Sometimes they can be rather awful in these situations.
I hope they will be understanding.0 -

Hi, Thanks for the help. I have power of attorney, do I send that with the letter?
Most companies will require an original signed copy and will not accept a photocopy, but you will need to send one if the company has not already been notified. No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

Hi, I've just been thinking, would it be the right thing to do if I CCA'd my fathers Credit card companies first?. He has three visas and they were all applied for pre 2004 ish.0
