Looking for help selling 59 plate, delivery mileage car
Hi,
Good news first: I won a car!
Yes, I won a Nissan Navara Tekna 2.5litre car earlier this year and after 10 months of problems the car has finally arrived at my local dealership.
Now I'm a young driver and that car is way too big for me so I am looking to sell it and get myself a smaller car, hopefully without too much hassle.
Spoke to the sales rep at the local dealership and he refuses to offer me a price, insteading asking what I wanted for it. I know that the car is worth £23k brand new and I fully expected at least £18k for it. But as haggling goes (start high) I said that I thought £20k would be a fair price, to which he said there was no way.
So I told the rep that I would get back to him before I go to pick up the car next week.
So I was wondering if the good people at the MSE forums had advice on dealerships which would offer good prices or the best way to dispose of this car.
Thanks in advance!

You lucky so and so.:o:o
Can you avoid your name being stamped in the book?? Could be very important as in £££s.
The net is your friend here, offer it to one and all, ie dealers/privateI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Dealers usually say the car is worth 23k, then the profit would be like 5-10k, accept 18k and think your lucky as it was free. Get rid of it quick as book prices go up and down every month. Try sell it on auto trader if you that bothered by the price the dealer is giving you.Kind Regards

How about raffling it off, £1 a ticket all you have to do is sell .......
I would ring every Nissan dealer for 100 miles ask to speak to the dealer principal and get the best offer you can, maybe play them off each other a bit, all I would say is do it quick!0 -
Instead of asking the dealer to buy it, why don't you see if they have a car you are interested in and ask them to do a deal. That way you will have a more suitable car and hopefully some cash.

Well done firstly:T
23 list means at least 20 after discount or scrapage. Tell the dealer you are selling the car and to make you an offer. I would say 18 is a fair price, but take 17. They after all want some profit in the deal.
Otherwise eBay it starting at £1 to generate interest! Looking at recent ads a 2008 model with 16,000 miles sold for £16,000.
If you want rid quick try dealer, then ebay.0 -
ill give u a £5 for it
Or swap u my corsa lol x
I'm getting married in August 2015:j0 -
Tbh I would be inclined to back to the dealer and see what he will give you if it involves him selling a smaller car too
They wont do a good deal outright, maybe a bit better if there selling a car too.
ebay etc might work but I doubt you will get much more.0 -
Hi everyone, thanks for all your responses.
Just thought I'd update you that after the rather unpleasant phone call mentioned in my original post, I got in contact with the manager of the dealership who was a bit more understanding.
Anyway, I got a lovely honda civic and a nice cheque; so it all worked out.
Thanks for all the advice! Hopefully someone else from MSE gets lucky soon!:D:D
