Because under the facade of glossy ads of loopholes in government legislation, and a little known piece of government legislation.......

An IVA is a form of insolvency, the same as BR, and is recorded by the IS and the Gazette just as BR is.

    Try Barclays or the co-op
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(
  • thanks for the reply.
So it means I have bankruptcy against my name until my IVA is done?
So it will be hard to open a bank account?
Is it possible to change this to IVA on my name?:o
    sorry for being thick?

Hi, an IVA is logged on the insolvency register as bankruptcy is, it will be logged as "IVA" and they put some details down about it. Yes it will be a little harder to open a bank account, as some banks treat it as the same as being Bankrupt (which in a way i guess it is) Nationwide are good, I use them, annoying not having a debit card though! Just make sure you're applying for the basic accounts and ones not linked to your creditors. HTH

Make sure you open an account not connected with your creditors, there has been so many bank mergers and all info is pooled. Only go for basic account> Ive got a nationwide one.
  • Go to Lloyds TSB - they do a cash card, no debt card though.
