Sainsbury's Platinum Visa and Nectar

I applied for a Sainsbury's Platinum Visa Credit card a few months ago (mainly because of the 9 months 0% interest offer at the time). I'm sure that it was advertised as earning nectar points on all purchases and I'm fairly sure I filled in my nectar card number on the application. Each month my statement has shown 0 nectar points. Today, I rang customer services to ask about this, and was told this card does not qualify for nectar points. Has anyone else got this card with nectar points? If not, which cards qualify?

I recently got a Sainsburys Standard card and the literature that came with it only stated that I would receive money off vouchers of some kind. It didn't specify how often and there was no mention of gaining Nectar points.

I applied direct to American Express / nectar ( if you type this in to google you get the right link or you can get info on the nectar points website and get the lin form there ), my card came through and it is the same colour as a nectar card, but when paying a the till in Sainsbo's you still need to hand over your traditional nectar card aswell as the credit card.

When you get your credit card statement you will see how may nectar points you have gained, they are then transferred to your nectar account.

This card doesn't work the same as the Tescos credit card, in that the card operates as both credit card and a loyaltly card - with Sainsbo you need both but you need to go dircet to American express and not the financial services side of Sainsbos.

Isn't this a American Express card rather than a Sainsbury's Bank Visa?

Yes, this is an American express card - I am think that you get the most extra nectar points by using this card, the nectar website don't have any other link on their website to any other cards, not even the Sainsbury card.

Thanks, but my main reason for the card was the 0% interest rate. THe nectar points would have just been an added bonus

Since the Amex Nectar Card came out, I'm not sure you get Nectar points anymore on newly acquired Sainsburys Plat Visa cards. If you do find you get points, (might be best to ring their Customer Service people who I've found to be very friendly and helpful in bonnie Scotland), make sure you register your S'burys card to your Nectar card, otherwise they won't get transferred.

I have an "old" Sainsburys Plat Visa and still get Nectar points, but am having difficulty working out for what! Still, every point from the Visa is a bonus, plus they gave me another 12 months 0% purchases in March this year. So 2 years of 0% for me!
