Why did the NW graph suddenly shoot ahead from the halifax one, starting around Feb 09?0

Yup - those grim northern towns are taking longer to recover, but they will catch up in time0

I see you missed off the important bit of that quote.
Can you not read or understand english. Those two statements are not inclusive to each other. You assume that since they are in the same bullet point, the 2nd point is a complete explanation of the former. This is not the case.
Why fall for one of the oldest tricks in the book.0 -

Why fall for one of the oldest tricks in the book.
So a part buy of 40% of a house should be included against person who purchased 100% so it looks like 60% inflation?
I think you want to find a problem when the exclusion is totaly logical for when prices rise as well as fall.0 -
Are house prices going up then guys ?, I have to admit I've been out of the loop for a while, especially since Property Bee bombed, still it's back up and running and to be honest I was quite surprised at the falls still occurring, quite the opposite to what's being buzzing in my ear now and again over the past months in the media.
Just spotted a new build 4 bed detached (about 4 years old) with lovely views and a nice conservatory off the back, after a series of drops it's now down to 144k, have to say I'm tempted..... but I'm also tempted still to leave the country before my money is worth the same as some used Andrex...... mmm decisions, decisions.:D0 -

that's another excellent point you made Devon when you were trying to find fault in the small Nationwide rise
how do you apply the same logic to the Halifax coming in at a 1.2% rise today, whilst economists were expecting the Halifax house price index to rise 0.8% on the month. :rolleyes:0 -

looks like house prices are up - both Halifax and Natiowide up this month, again....
don't forget that Property Bee is looking at Rightmove.
that's only asking prices, those asking prices that many were saying were too high in the first place...
but anyway... your Year on Year for your asking prices from Property Bee is positive now, so the confirmation to your question is yes they have gone up... only by a small amount though... where did you say those price drops were again?
