But the milk does taste 'funny', different cows eating different diets.;)
Most people wouldn't continue eating food they were given if it tasted 'funny' they would suspect it was off. It carries on that familiar food tasting different could be treated the same way.
As I said before, disguise the taste for a fortnight, but don't try to take it with you, unless of course you could ge the kids used to drinking dried milk before you go (now that really does taste odd!)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I suggest you holiday in the UK. The joy of traveling is experiences different sites, sounds, cultures and tastes. Either drink the milk where your going or simply do without for the duration of the holiday. Is she aware the food may be a little different too?0

.....
This thread is fast becoming my favourite thread of 2009.
Experiencing other cultures? ..... Since when was substituting homogenized pasteurised semi skimmed milk for full fat UHT or whole milk on your cornflakes or in your tea in any way shape or form experiencing another culture? ..... It's not like the various milk varieties are not freely available in your local supermarket.
Milk is milk? ..... Just as red wine is red wine, beef is beef, rum is rum, tomato ketchup is tomato ketchup, fish is fish and olive oil is olive oil? ..... Right?
Anyone who believes that milk is milk regardless of its origins, the process employed to make it fit for human consumption or its fat content, has either had all of their taste buds removed or has not travelled further than their local Tesco's.

I dunno about milk abroad tasting different...but frozen milk yeeuuuch!! I can't stand milk that's been frozen then defrosted....to me it tastes disgusting! I think I'd rather do without the stuff than risk it defrosting in my case and then having to put up with the taste....I'd try the "foreign" milk and if I didn't like it...go without.

Unfortunately she is incredibly fussy and I've tried time and again to convince her that stuff like this is fine. I've only told the half of it as I'm sure she is planning to take one suitcase just full of food. I'm now at the point where I just let her pack as long as I don't have to do any of it because it used to make me soooooo cross seeing what she was packing and we would end up arguing and ruining the start of the holiday...[/FONT]
I'd personally ask for a divorce - taking food abroad is just ridiculous!
It seems to be a uniquely British habit to go on holiday in foreign places and demand exactly the same as they have at home. Taking milk is beyond ridiculous!
I wouldn't be surprised if the 'BRITISH MILK FROM BRITISH COWS' is actually from Polish cows...perhaps you should ask her to make sure that the milk is actually from the UK before sulking about drinking 'that foreign muck'.From Poland...with love.

Indeed, it is strange that these same " Brit's Abroad " don't have any problems getting sossed out of their minds on cheap " foreign " booze..
I find it almost beyond belief that anyone would even consider taking milk abroad with them.0
