Well, rather randomly it's the same time two years on since i last posted / restarted my diary!! In that time things have changed a lot yet in other ways not so much.

Over the last 2 years we've continued to live fairly frugally, generally managing to keep within our means and slowly chipping away at all that debt. Our mortgage is due for renewal next month, but as it's still with Halifax and their rates are awful we think we'll leave it to their SVR as it seems far better. Had a couple of attempts approaching other lenders but they can't seem to lend us the amount we need because of my low income & self employment & can't really factor in maternity leave to previous accounts.

It's been quite interesting re-reading my diary and realising how far we have come! I think my main aims are still trying to maximise my income as business is not great in this everlasting recession. And more determined than ever to be DF!!! Can't believe i'm still here and while closer to our target it's still such a long way off! Looking for some inspiration so have returned here!

Will get around to posting a new SOA shortly as i think it will help, but i know we've not made as much progress as i'd hoped!

Doesn't time fly! I've decided to come back to the diary as we're trying to move house and I want to re-evaluate where we are.

Mortgage debt is down to £125,600 ish (payment goes out today) and total credit cards are at £16,500. The loan has gone  and the cc's ( one mine, one DH's) are either at 5.9% or 0%.

When we move we are going to clear the cards with our deposit, but in the mean time I'm going to try and clear as much as possible. We've both been overpaying the debt, but not really making much of an effort until now.

I'm joining the payment a day thread, but need to find ways of raising even small amounts to do it. I've sold a few things of facebook lately, so that can go towards it and I'm hoping to do a car boot on saturday. Any other suggestions welcome....;)

Today's payment of £13.62 was made by rounding my bank balance to £0 (I get paid tomorrow).
