Epson C42 Plus both lights blinking..

Hi I have an Epson C42 plus and have just renewed both ink cartidges but cant get it to print at all, the ink levels arent showing and I have tried various troubleshooting guides but still no luck, at the moment both the red and green lights are blinking anyone had this before?

Thanks have tried this but still no good I think its had it ! it is 3 years old so probably time to buy a new one.0

Paper Jam, did you take the Cellophane of the cartridges are they in correctly do the heads need aligning do they need cleaning is the USB cable in properly.
Just a few things to check.0 -
It could be that the printer needs a service to the ink sponge, which is expensive (more than a printer). For the time being use this utility until your new inks run out and then think about a new printer. It will reset the ink clock.

I agree with hawkwinddotcom its probably the sponges are full of ink. When the printer cleans its heads all the excess ink goes there. It probably would be expensive to get it cleaned by a dealer so suggest you have a go yourself. I had this problem with an Epson C46 and asked on this forum

I had a go. Getting the lid off was the hard part. In the C46 the ink pads were at the back and easily removed. Get some rubber gloves, take out the pads, rinse them out thoroughly, let them dry, put them back in, reset the counters as suggested above and you should be okay.
If not, buy a new printer at less cost than the servicing would have been.0
