in Credit cards
Hi, not sure if this thread is in the right place....
Brief story:
but anyway, I brought a vehicle on in april, rang the finance company to make sure the finance was settled, the finance company response was this was settled 5 wks prior by clients boyfriend. This I thought gave me the green light to buy the car.
Brought the car, 4 months down the line baliffs company come to take the car, reason for this that the payment was contested by boyfriend - he said he never made the payment. So the finance company have come for the car saying that even though they received payment & cleared in to there accounts that they still have a interest in the vehicle because the payment was contested.
Anyway the Q. I would like to ask is can they still keep interest in the car even though the loan was settled when I brought the car. They're saying because it was a credit card payment over the phone they are keeping interest in the vehicle for 2 months?!
Is this the norm? So if anyone made a transaction over the phone by Credit Card? Can the owner/seller still keep interest for 2 months?
Thanks
