Hi
Just wanted to check something out with people please.
I understand that there are different types of credit search. I can see that each time I request my credit report myself it creates a footprint.
When applying for credit do these requests get included in the number of searches that a company sees or are they ignored, i.e. is there any harm in me accessing my credit report regularly from Experian/Equifax?
Thanks

The footprint that is left when you request your own credit report is only viewable by you.
Lenders cannot see that search and it has absolutely no affect on your credit file. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks. Logically I thought it should not affect it but wanted to be 100% sure before I kept checking it.0

You may find this Experian booklet (which is also sent with your £2 statutory copy of your credit report) a useful read...
