Hi,
Can any of you guys help me out to give a roughish estimate on how much it costs to run gas central heating?
I don't have it on yet as it's not cold enough, and i just moved into my new property in Sept so have never went through a winter yet.
The heating would be on from 5.30am til 6.30 (leave house for work then)
To come on again at 5pm and either be on until 7 or 8pm depending on how cold it is
It is a 1 bedroom flat and I have neigbours above, we are getting cavity wall insulation on 23rd November, on the weekends I am out again during the day mostly so would still be leaving it on to come on at night.
all radiators have TV on them apart from hall as it's a bypass radiator.
any help is much appreciated.
Thank you.

depends on the boiler, heat level, and number of radiators I would expect.
mine last time I used it for 2-3 hours a day on a regular basis (2 winters ago) cost me over £80 a month to use.0 -
Boiler is a Worscter Bosch GreenStar 28i Junior, Living room Radiator and Bedroom Radiator will be set at about 2 or 3 on Thermo valves, boiler will be at 2.
Towel Radiator in bathroom will be at 1 all the time and hall rad doesnt have thermo valve on it.
just wasnt sure as my dd i am beginning to think might not cover it.0 -
I woould say about £35-£50 a month. Probably £40.Toffs laying into the less well off? Surely not!!

If you can afford it, it maybe wise to put the some extra money aside now. Then if your DD is too low, you have to money to cover it. If you don't, you will have not only have to pay higher monthly DD to cover your usage, but also any possible arrears.
If you not in debt on your account, extra cash for Christmas, win win.0
