Holidaycottage In France

We're looking to hire a cottage/gite in France for two weeks in late July/early August, suitable for four.
Somewhere not too far from the ferries ie Normandy Brittany Loire Valley.
I've looked at Chez Nous and French Connections without much success.
Does anyone know of any more good websites I can try please????
Or any other ideas???

You could try:
http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/
http://www.welcomecottages.com/
not tried them myself, but a colleague used welcome last year and was quite pleased.
we,ve used WWW.ownersin france.co.uk which have some sort of relationship with Britanny Ferries, (May get you a deal on ferry price)
several years ago now, but OKNeil0 -
Brittany Ferries also act as agents for holiday rentals - you can usually pick up a brochure in most travel agents, or they're probably accessible online through their websitedon't blow out other people's candles to make your own burn brighter...0

If you wanted to get a longer ferry crossing and stay in Brittany I think the Brittany ferries site is worth looking at. You book the package all in one including crossing and this definitely seems to work out cheaper than going it alone and booking one of their crossings and a property elsewhere. This late I'd be tempted to ring them up (this will be pricey) and ask what they've got. Otherwise when you find a property on their site you'll probably find you can't get crossings to coincide.
Good luck - I'm sure you'll get something.
p.s. I also had a look at the French Life website with a view to maybe spending tesco vouchers there. Wasn't that impressed with the site but they did seem to have a lot available.0
