Are all the debts enforceable ?

If they are from pre-2007 you could request the original CCA and follow the route of proving the debts to be unenforceable. Wrecks your credit rating but gets the debts off your back ;)

The only thing I would like to add (ducks for cover) is to consider, when deciding the best course of action to take, is what is more important to you. Your quality of life, or your credit rating ;)

I believe that if you get yourself into a !!!!!! situation, it's good to try to get yourself out of it, where possible.

And while I'm at it..... ;)

Having had issues with my credit rating for the last 5 years, trust me that can impact your quality of life.

I've been unable to buy a house, lease a car, etc. That has impacted on my quality of life.

£30K of debit when earning £30K a year isn't ideal, but it's not an amount of debt that cannot be repaid. But if as it's currently set up it needs repaying too quickly, with too much interest, that's when it can be a problem.

    Just my opinion though!
