Who to switch to? Read bad things about EDF/Scottish/nPower
Options
Hi,
My annual usuage is
Gas: 9051
Elec: 1700
I am with British gas (click energy 6) for gas. eOn for elec (elec online saver 10)
eOn just raised my DD to £69 despite having £100 in credit. BG I pay £55 per month and have been in healthy credit.
I've used uSwitch/money supermarket.
Both recommend Scottish power on Direct Debit. Next down is nPower then EDF.
Reading around on the forums Scottish Power seem to bill badly and have silly high DD, EDF also have similar issues with DD, and nPower have billing issues.
My question is - do i switch? And if so to whom?
Thank you greatly for your help.

Keep reading and you'll soon see some bad comments about SSE, E.On & BG too.;)
If you are not happy about suppliers collecting monthly what they think is appropriate, ask for a pay on receipt of bill tariff."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

I have been with EDF for a number of years now, prices are in line,
customer services is excellent, freephone number to get to them, online and paper billing.
Cant fault them at all.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I think thats abuot the size of it. Every company will have mostly satisfied customers, usually silent, and a few, usually vocal, unhappu customers.
We've always been with Scottish Power in each property mostly out of ignorance but more recently out of informed choice. We've never had a problem with them and the one time they increased the direct debit to what we considered an unrealistic level we phoned up and it was adjusted. most recently they dropped the direct debit by about 7% based on our regular meter readings without any contact from us.
I was about to change based on current pricing but they are once again the cheapest so we've stayed but this reminds me that we've not switched onto the cheapest tariff yet.0
