Yup - I would guess some staffie in there...! but there could also be a bit of collie I think...just something about her look in the second to last piccy - but I am not at all certain about that! As I said earlier, she could be more of a mix than a straight cross of two breeds... whatever she is, she is a striking looking girl! Fab ears!
How old is she do you know?0 -

She will be 1 on Monday. Everyone always comments on the ears though I don't think they are that big but I think it's because I am used to my German Shepherd's ears. On the rehoming website it said she was colliexalsation but as the days have went on I had thought the staffie might be a possibility. Even a policeman mentioned something about her being crossed with some sort of bull terrier!0 -
lol - did the jack russell survive??
Your new dog looks very cat friendly! - what is her name?0 -
I had a half alsatian/collie cross. I didn't see the resemblance with your dog when she was shaved as mine had a lot of hair, but she looks much more like my dog with her long hair. Do you have a face-on picture of her with long hair? She seems to have a broader snout than my dog did, but it's hard to tell from that angle. Other than that, she looks quite like her, from what I can see. Please call me 'Pickle'

The Jack Russell tries to clean the Sheps teeth with her head:eek::rotfl: The cross is more into her ball. There could be another 10 dogs in the same place as her but she would rather have the ball than a sniff!0 -

The cross doesn't have long hair. Her coat is the fast drying kind and non shedding:D unlike the shep - could make a rug from her every month!:rolleyes:0 -

I'll have to ask my mum about her shedding - I think it was just twice a year like most dogs. I now have a small cross-breed who sheds a completely disproportionate amount of hair to her size.
BTW does your dog exhibit any 'herding' tendancies? Mine did. She would sometimes nip people new to the house if they moved around unsepectedly, rather as I would expect a Collie to do with sheep to keep them in their place. I don't know if it was just her, or a tendancy for that type of dog. We got her from the kennels, you see, so sometimes it was hard to tell what about her behavour was what.
Also, my dog was a very good 'guard' dog, albeit sometimes a bit too good. If anyone went near the house or the cars outside she would go ballistic, actually saving one of our cars from being stolen on more than one occasion. Who needs a car alarm?!Please call me 'Pickle'

I always thought it was twice a year but the shep is daily! The cross has already managed to catch a rabbit and as soon as she sees one she is off! She hasn't nipped anyone - still tries to do the playful bite but my shep also does this. I had her 3 hours and she started to guard the house. I also got her from kennels and I am positive she has at some point been hit with something rather large as she refused to go down the aisle in pets at home with the massive white bones. Also noticed that sudden movements more so when she is next to me she backs off. Have shown her that certain things are not there to hurt her and started making sudden movements as if it's an every day thing to show her that it's not to hurt her - it's usually to scratch one of those itches that make you jump to get at it.
She has only just started guarding the garden though you have more chance of being licked to death than bitten to death. Though saying that, I have a dog that is likely to break your arm with one bite, a dog whose bark means business but is likely to drown you in doggie drool and a wee ankle biter - I almost feel sorry for the burglars:rotfl:0
