Capital One reclaim .... should I respond to their 2nd letter?

Hi, I'm after a piece of advice if possible.
I'm in the process of claiming back what we believe to be a missold policy from capital one and have followed the advice and template letters supplied on the website.
The first letter I sent listed 8 reasons I believe we were missold this policy and the letter back basically stated that they could not find a copy of the original sales call but we would have been told blah, blah, blah ( how they can prove this since they admit to having no record is beyond me).
I sent back the template letter requesting they look again at our claim with the time limit in place which they went over.
I have completed the forms from the Financial Ombudsman but not sent them off yet and yesterday received a response from capital one which asked me to send them the reasons I wanted the claim re investigated.
So, what do I do? I believe they are time wasting and trying to see if i'll just give up so am a considering ignoring their letter as I've already given my reasons in the first letter I sent them and sending off the forms. Or should I give them one more chance?
Any advice appreciated. And any success stories from other capital one claimants would be good to hear too. Thank you.

Hello there,
A sticky situation then, maybe since all the media news they are having a change of heart.
I would give them one more chance and ask them to respond by 14 days, then if you hear nothing them move your complaint on to the FOS.
Hopefully this is the case, you can also tell them you have already provided them with a list of your reasons and refer to them, or otherwise if you kept copies, is to send a photocopy and highlight them.;)
Fingers crossed, please let us know how you get on.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi,
Thanks ......
I was thinking of just a simple 'Here's a copy of my first letter listing the reasons' type of letter. So maybe I'll do that after all 14 days is quicker than the months it could take with FOS.
You mentioned media coverage lately ..... i have a new baby so have missed everything do you have any links to news relating to this?
Thanks again.0 -
