Great thread though. I think if I had a spare fiver I would spend it on the following (assuming all the sachets are about £1 each from Boots):
A deep conditioning treatment sachet for my hair
A face mask sachet
A foot soak sachet
A foot scrub sachet
A one glass bottle of rose wine (Sainsburys)
Then I'd rush home & give myself a mini pampering session...!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Pringles. 88p in Wilkinsons. Sour cream obv.
Wine, say £2.99 (don't say you can taste the difference.....)
Which leaves £1.13.....
No contest.....
More Pringles. 25p left over for a rainy day....
Instructions:
1. Open wine.
2. Run bath, using that posh stuff you've had for years.
3. Arrange stool next to bath to hold pringles & glass & wine.
4. Get in.
5. Eat pringles.
6. Drink wine
7. Get out of bath.
8. Fall over
9. Stand up.
10. Stagger downstairs & eat 2nd tube of Pringles to sober up.
Sorted!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I have to say, i bought a Guerlain compact 2 christmasses ago. I nagged MrJudi for it and he bought it me for christmas. I kid you not, it cost him £99. I used it once and had an awful reaction to it..... Then there was the pot of Creme DeLamer that cost £100 and did nothing. Yeah, i can identify with you. I could kick myself now, i really could.:mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
My idea wasn't anything dodgy. I have a friend who works at the cinema and she gets to give up to 4 of her friends a free pass to see a film every week. She can go unlimited if she wants. There are many weeks that go by when she doesn't give any away. Its all totally legal and above board. Its available to all staff members.
So I still think my suggestion is a goer.0 -
Mind you this is the DFW board after all, so can I be the first to suggest you put it towards your debt at the highest APR.DFW Nerd 0350

OK i would take some much needed time out and armed with just the five pound (purse left at home so no temptation;) ) i would wander around all those lovely shops, yes the pound shops and charity shops and markets are a fab treasure trove of cheap goodies but be cheeky and see how many shops have a few freebies. We have a wonderful chocolate shop down my way and i always have a peek in to see if there are any free samples on offer, and the local cookie shop ( no wonder i am not losing any weight
). Plus some other places do little freebies, i once went into lush and asked for a small sample of their new soap and they kindly let me have some, ok only a small peice but it perked me up. Plus as you love make up why not see if anywhere is doing free make overs, i love Benefit but can no longer afford it  so now i pop in and try out some of the products, yes you have to be strong and say no to all the wonderful things they try and sell you, but i always say i need to see how it wears for a few hours before i am willing to buy, so you spend no money and yet come away feeling and looking great. Plus in our local area there are always people giving away promotional samples on a thursday, the other week i got 8 little conditioner air fresheners which i have put in the car and wardrobes and the real plus was they all came with 35p vouchers, a few weeks before that it was body spray.
So with some planning, and alot of self control a fiver can really last a whole day.:rotfl:
May have to have one of those kinda days myself soon:DSuccess means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash
