Just took out the Tesco Clubcard credit card to get 0% over 12 months for my new car purchase. The first transaction on the card will be for £4000 or thereabouts (chip & PIN) at the dealership.
Is there any mileage in calling customer services shortly beforehand to "pre warn" them; or should I just run with it and, assuming it goes to verbal authorisation assume that there won't be any problems?

Lol no need to pre warn them.
Likelyhood is that the transaction will come up as a "Call Auth Centre" wherby the dealer calls the card authorisation centre, gives them his Merchant ID, the number on the display of the Chip & Pin terminal, and they ask you some security questions to make sure it's you.
Happens to me occasionally when I make unusually large transactions (anything above £100 is very unusual for me and only happens once or twice a year).Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
