CCA 1974 rejection?

I have had my credit card with MBNA since 1999. Out of interest I checked out with solicitor about in being unenforceable and was told that it did comply with the CCA 1974 despite me having taken it out in 1999.
Confused.. Should I give up? Advice apreciated
