Im being asked to pay for something Ive never had

A KAYS Account!!!
Ive received a letter from Credit Account Management telling me I owe £125.09, also telling me Im aware the debt has been assigned to them. Firstly I have never had a KAYS account, secondly I havent received anything previously in the mail telling me anything about this "debt"
Ive tried calling the company but only got a message saying it is closed, only open 9-5:30 monday - thursday and 9-5 fridays... I called the line at 3pm!
I was wondering if anyone else has had this sort of thing and if there is anything I need to say when Im on the phone to them tomorrow?
Thanks for any help

you checked your credit reference, arent the items signed for when they are delivered so if you didnt order said items then it wouldnt be your signature that signed for the parcel

If your absolutely sure that this is not your debt then they are probably fishing.

Don't call, write and keep a copy plus send it recorded.

Don't forget to put their reference/account numbers

Write something to the effect that you have no knowledge of any such debt and point out that OFT guidelines state that sending demands for payment to an individual when it is uncertain that they are the debtor in question is unfair.

You might mention that disregarding claims of debts that are disputed can be classed as harassment

Also if they wish to pursue this further they must provide proof that you are liable for this debt otherwise you will expect confirmation that the matter is closed giving them 14 days to respond or you will be obliged to lodge a complaint to the OFT and inform trading standards

I leave you to put it that into reasonable English for a letter to them
