Moldy bread rolls delivered from Tesco

Not sure where to post this, but I had my Tesco shopping delivered yesterday evening.
This dinner time I made some bread rolls up for me and my daughter. I was just about to eat mine when I noticed blue specks on the bottom of it. I just managed to stop my daughter eating hers in time.
On checking the packet the best before date is 23/05/06, the same date they were delivered at 5.00pm.
Would you class that as selling food out of date? Not sure what to put in my complaint email.

How about you just state the facts as they are?
You got mouldy bread rolls with zero shelf life. Please sort out a refund and some compensation for my inconvenience, because I really fancied a bread roll and now I can't have one.
Something like that would do it for me.Marillion - A Better Way of Life.0 -
They sent me 4 croissonts at 11pm with 1 hour left on them.... we had them for supper

It would be very unusual for something to have gone moldy that close to their best before date - normally things will last a lot longer than that.
Contract Tesco and they will probably refund your delivery charge and the cost of the rolls. If the mold was only on the bottom the picker probably honestly didnt see it either. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Should they ship them out when they are out of date the next day? I would expect them to send you the freshest they can! What do their t+c say they will do? I am sure I've read one stores which said they will always send you the freshest, it makes sense, I would hope Tesco would do the same.

I get my shopping delivered by ASDA.
I have had to email them several times regarding items with extremely short sell by dates.
For example - I ordered a weeks shopping, which arrived.
Whilst I was putting the stuff away I noticed that 5 out of the 7 fresh products had a use by date of the next day...!!
(they state on their website that they pick goods to the freshest standards).
I emailed the customer services so they refunded me the items.
But this is still very annoying - I choose to shop online for the convenience of not having to trawl the supermarket, so when this sort of thing happens, I end up having to go shopping for replacements too.
Oh and last Sunday - I booked a delivery slot of 11-1pm and they called me at 10.45am to say that they were unable to deliver due to 'Technical Issues'.
The customer service person did finally manage to agree to waiver the delivery charge - as I had to wait two extra days for the damn stuff to arrive, and had to do a mad dash for provisions for the kids packed lunches and family sunday tea.
But ...am still awaiting the delivery charge to be refunded (have emailed them, no reply yet).
Don't know why I bother.....

Online shopping certainly isn't without it's pitfalls! I've decided to quit using it for a while and just make sure I take a proper (planned) list with me. Nothing worse than waiting in for a shop and then finding you've got no spuds/bread/milk which makes me more stressed than going to the supermarket in person!0
