Black Horse Rebate - advice please

Hi BH have offered me a "rebate" of £551.71 which amounts to the amount of PPI I paid during the course of the loan. I'm confused here as they haven't added interest to the figure, but I don't really understand what a rebate is. This is their final offer, I am considering FOS but don't want to blow my chances of getting anything. Any advice gratefully received!

Hi Robbie, if you were not sent a detailed breakdown of how this was worked out, ask them to post them out to you, or maybe email them to you by attachment email, due to the postal disputes.
Also ask them about the interest.

If this is still active, if they said rebate, this I take it would be deducted as a rebate from your finance you have with them, but do ring them and make sure on this, just in case, then if your not happy, go to the FOS.
    Good luck.;)

  • Hi Di thanks for your reply. They did send me a breakdown
Pro rata rebate £1305, Rebate received when i settled was £754, they are offering the difference of £551. I have settled the loan and they reckon this figure includes interest but strangely it equates exactly the the total PPI I paid! So am not sure what to do. They are insisting this is their final offer

    Hi hun, your welcome.
Arh I see, ummmm confusing this one.

If you have a little time before you accept, wait for more opinions on this one if you want to, but if your not happy, you do have the FOS as you know. Hopefully Melorablack or Marshallka will be along soon to give their opinions on this, I don't want to tell you to do the wrong thing here...:o.

Either way, good luck to you on this.

If this is exactly what you paid in PPI I take it that the interest they charged on the PPI is not included?
