Well this month I will be paying off about £760 but this is just in minimum payments!

Can't afford to pay anymore than that but I will be keeping it (hopefully) at about the £750 mark! :D

    Hi,

I pay £996 in min payments and then any extra money I make (ebay and amzon) I put into the highest apr one. it may only be a few £ but it helps! Obviously, if I have money left it goes to pay of debt. OH is getting a £500 bonus in June and that'll go towards the debt, but at this stage it feels like it doesn't make much difference! Am aiming to be under £34000 soon though...(maybe even by mid July :) )

I budget an amount ATM for the credit card payment, but am hammering it:D

Have a cashback Visa that I use for all groceries/petrol and other bits needed-this gets paid in full each month but is covered by grocery/petrol money etc.

LOB Barclaycard has a substantial amount per month paid of of it, depending on other costs that month and sales on Ebay etc. Aiming to have it paid up in 4 months:eek:

I am snowballing my debts so as each one goes the payment goes up. Also any spare money goes towards the debt.

  • my monthly income varies due to commission, im in sales.
some months its good and I can throw an extra 5 - £600 at my debt.
other months its a struggle and i can only manage 50 - £100 extra.
    every little helps though.

  • I pay £250, off egg and just min :o off Virgin (£5). My worry is that my Egg car 0% is ending soon so i'll be hit with the interest. Then Virgin ends a couple months later, and I need a loan for our wedding...... hmmm, somethings gotta give!

I've applied for other credit cards but got rejected twice in a week. my credit file was good though, so it maybe they thought i had too much debt already. if i pay of my egg in full (somehow) will that help towards getting another card?

The minimum payments on my debts have gone down to ~£125 now, although they started out at almost £1000! The absolute bare minimum I pay off of it each month is £550 (had to drop it from £1k, as I lost a huge chunk of my income a while back), although thankfully most months I manage to whack a lot more than that off. June's will be circa £975 - and more if I come in under budget in other areas. It is all on 0% now though, and I should be able to clear it all before those rates run out in August & December.

OP - if you booked your holiday pre-lighbulb, and that is why you can't afford to pay as much as you'd like off your debt this month, don't beat yourself up about it. Just enjoy your holiday, and come back refreshed and ready to fight the DFW fight anew ;)

Luckily Ebay sales look at coming in around £50 by end of month, so that will be an extra payment on OD2!

Am feeling much better now! :)

At the moment I pay about double the minimum payments of most of my cards and am trying to pay off the smaller store cards (massive apr) in full each months. So far I have paid off about four smaller cards and cut each one up as i go along. so just a couple left and then my biggie....
Am just about to pay another store card off now.

I started off paying £200 per month, but am now paying off £430 every month, as i realised it's more important to pay off my debt than it is to buy new clothes every month (although i still manage to buy a few bits in Peacocks on a regular basis - and i still manage to look fairly trendy!).

    Not long to go now!
