Talk talk beware!

May i just warn anyone thinking of moving over to Talk Talk DON'T! we had loud continual buzz on the phone line, people said they had rung but our phone didn't ring at all, the internet was intermittent going dead every 30 mins ( this really annoyed the kids when playing x box on line) and when we wanted to change to another provider we found that.. THEY HAD REMOVED US FROM THE EXCHANGE! ! and it was going to cost to put us back on the phone, they were so abrupt cutting us off that we had to go 4 days without a phone at all. this really annoyed us as we were never told that we would have to pay to go back on the phone if we ever left them! just beware..

  • am etremely angry with talk talk, i am currently in contract with them, and have been trying to switch my service to sky so that i recieve only 1 bill for everything, i was prepared to pay the termination fee if sky could take over my line, however when i tryed to do this was told they could not take over my line as talk talk are unbundled from the exchange and andf my line would need to be bundled back into the3 xchange for my service to transfer to them, however for this to happen i wqouyld need to go back to bt and in doing this i would need to take a minumum contract, or i could go to post office who want to charge me 107 pound for a new line!, however i changed my mind and decided to stay with talktalk, only to find out that there new payments system has caused loads of trouble and they are now missing a payment from my account, 1st time i payed on new system, it decided to take two payments from me!! when i only authorised one! then it decides after me making another payment that it wont accpet my payment onto my account but will still take it from my bank account, so they have money in there bank account that shouldnt be there!! I rang up 2 weeks ago 2 request why it had not applied to my account, they apologised and raised a missing payment claim of which i was told it would only take 5days for them to find my payment and apply it to my account, 5days later irang again to see why it had still not been found and they told me to fax a copy of my statement which i did, 2 days later i rang again and they told me there fax system was down and they needed me 2 fax it again , which i did, i rang again today and they told me they had not recieved the fax again!! so i requested they cancel my line, and they had the nerve to saythat i would be liable to the charge for termination, they then offered to to credit my account so that my service wouldnt be interupted due to none payment, and once the payemnt was found they would remove the credit, 14 days (2 calls a day to talk talk) after the original complaint i am still waiting for that payment to be applyed to my account! i am not going to pay anymore bills untill this is sorted, they ahve my money andthere saying they dont!!!

    Hi

You guys should complain to Ofcom, I'm really annoyed because we moved house, 1 mile down the road and they wouldn't attempt to let us keep the number, which they are supposed to do. It also took 2 weeks to get a phone on and 6 weeks for broadband.

    Hi Nanmas,

I'm sorry to hear you had a fault on your TalkTalk line. TalkTalk do not remove customers from the exchange. If you are on an LLU service with TalkTalk then this is provided through the same exchange on the same telephone line. At the exchange your line is removed from the BT equipement and connected to TalkTalk equipment. BT Openreach are still responsible for the maintainance of your line. Some providers have a requirement for a BT wholesale service to be active before they can transfer the service to them. As an LLU service from TalkTalk is not provided over BTs network some providers may have a requirment for your line to be migrated back onto a BT service before they can provide a service to you.

Hi Amather1984, I've addressed this post in the other thread you've posted in. Posting multiple times on forums is known as spamming and is not usually recomended.

Misspoppy, TalkTalk do not offer a service during a home move where the new number is transfered to the new property. A service is set up and a new number is allocated at the new property.

    Cheers

TalkTalk really are a dreadful phone company and is one that should be avoided.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

We took our phone number with us 5 miles across town when we moved - that was 4 years ago though.

Thank you Emma Talk Talk representative, the fact still remains that we were removed from something which was not explained to us and cost us dearly to get back, a service which was an essential as we have a disabled son who frequently stops breathing, had i known it was going to cost me £170.00 to get reinstated with a trouble free, dependable phone and broadband company then i would have never come over to talk talk. it proved to be VERY unreliable, i was sick of trying to get through on the phone about problems we really shouldn't have had in the 21st century, sick of talking to someone from India who couldn't understand what i was saying!! i would rather pay a bit extra and get a dependable service.
