Can a car that has failed an mot but still has time left on the current one still be used in the scrappage scheme?

I think so, as long as it is within 2 weeks of the current MOT expiring and as long as you have owned it for over a year. I think you have to order the new car before the current MOT is over 2 weeks out of date. Obviously you cannot drive the car to the dealer if the MOT is invalid.
I'm wondering about my car. I will have owned it for one year after the mot is out of date by 2 days (mot expired by 2 days once i have owned it a year) will my car qualify?0
