Faulty Bag

Hi,
I bought a bag from an internet site, one month later the strap became unstitched therefor detatched from the bag. I sent the bag back and in their initial email they said that they were sorry but a replacement bag would be sent out in the next few days.
It has now been a week and they are saying they will fix the strap, but this will take 2-3 weeks. This is a baby bag, therefor I need it for everyday use and is a real pain without it.
Am I entitled to ask for A) A new bag that could be sent out straight away, or B) a refund.

Many thanks in advance!
Lisa x

You can ask but as its over a month old they're quite within their rights to choose to repair item.
  • Am I not entitled to a refund as the item is faulty or to exchange it?

You're entitled to a repair, replacement or refund (partial depending on age) but it is their choice which.
  • Is 2-3 weeks wait fair for something I need to use everyday and cannot afford to purchase another one whilst I wait for them to return mine.
Especially when they said I would only have to wait a few days. If they had told me that it would take 2-3 weeks for them to sew it together again I would have sewed it myself, but they said they would send a replacement in a few days! This totally contradicts what they are now saying.

Just use another bag for a couple of weeks. You must have something at home you can use in an emergency?
  • I do have another bag, but not that will fit in nappies, wipes, change mat, change of clothing for the baby and 3 bottles that I need for a day out! Hence the reason I bought the bag in the first place!

Not an ideal situation I know, but for the space of 2-3 weeks you could just pop all those items into a sturdy shopping/plastic bag. It's only temporary until you get the baby bag back. I had to do this a couple of times when one of my kids was small and I'd accidentally left behind the changing bag on a weekend away (I had to wait to get it posted back).
