My Toolbar, can't remove, advice please

Options
I've got a file in my add/remove program folder called My toolbar. It won't let me remove it and gives no information about it. I've searched for it online but haven't had any luck so far.

Do any of you have any idea what this is and how I can get rid of it. I am running on windows xp.

Thanks in advance, Kimbers

I would just make sure that its not running on your browser first before uninstall, Right click your browser and if it shows up there untick it then try add/remove.

Or try a forceful uninstall http://www.tucows.com/preview/362527

might be worth running the usual adware cleaners (adaware / spybot) in case it's been installed along with some freeware / shareware.

also ccleaner may well prove useful.

another alternative is try uninstalling it in safe mode,
A lot of drivers and processes are not started when in safe mode,
    see if this helps

Run "MSCONFIG" then see if is is loading on boot-up, from MSCONFIG you can "Stop" it loading, then you should be able to remove it...

open task manager and see if its in applications and processes if so highlight it and click 'end process' then run Add/Remove.

  • Thanks for the advice, I'll give it a go and see if any of them works.
