Savings account recommendations?

I need to open a couple of savings accounts for my grandparents - one each. My mother will be administering these accounts, but she doesn't want an internet only account as she thinks it is more safe to use the telephone (???). Despite my arguments for an internet only one she is adamant that a high street based account must be opened.

Each account will have less than £15k in it. Does anyone have any recommendations for which account I should open?
