Halifax Credit Card Debt

Hi,
I am hoping someone has some advice.
I had a credit card debt with Halifax, which was around 4.5k and had some problems a few years ago, the debt was passed to an agency etc. I agreed a payment plan with them, and paid every month. Around 6 weeks ago, i had a call from them asking if i wanted to pay the balance off, and they would knock off £250 and mark my credit file as settled.
I agreed, and paid the balance they asked for.
Now, my problem is, my credit file has been updated, but now shows that my outstanding balance is £250ish and its not settled.
I also got a Credit Card statement from Halifax showing the outstanding balance (£250) and that i should make a payment.
What should i do? Will my file be marked as "Settled" or is this debt still outstanding?
Any advice?
Also, on a slightly seperate note, does anyone think that if i do contact Halifax and offer to pay this amount, but i would like them to re-open the card account (With a a small limit) they would consider doing this?
Would be useful to have a mainstream card again if that was an option.
Sorry to go on, but any helpful advice would be apreciated.
Thanks

Did you get the agreement to knock £250 off in writing? Have you called the Debt Collection Agency to ask what they have noted on the account?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

If the agreement is in writing then you should insist they stick to it and mark the a/c as satisfied.
I would say there was zero chance of a new/re-actived CC with Halifax.EU tariff on agricultual product 12.2%

You may need to write a letter to their data compliance team (the address listed on your credit report in the top section).
Enclose a copy of proof of payment, and a copy of their agreement to settle for £250 less what was owing, demanding they rectify the issue on your credit report.
Should sort things out within a month, if not, go to the ICO and complain with them
