Boots chemist

Tonight I sent my son to a late night boots chemist to purchase x3 biocard celiac test kits. On arrival at my brother-in-laws house we found one had been used. Blood spot on the glass needle, blood in the bottle and an open dried out antiseptic wipe. Also included in the box was a sales receipt from back in June 2009 that includes a credit card transaction. I am totally amazed and somewhat shocked to say the least. I have called the store and they have said someone will call me back tomorrow. I really need some guidance on what to do. I am amazed that something that is dealing with blood sample test kits is reshelved without checking seals or contents.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I don't know whether this is a trading standards or an environmental health problem.
Personally I would contact one of them and see if they deal with it tomorrow morning. If they don't they will refer you to the right place.
Trading standards - http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/ then put in your postcode for your local office
Environmental Health - google your local council for the phone number.
I would make sure it's reported to them and preferably give them the packaging rather than giving anything to Boots as this is likely to have happened more than once, and Boots would want to hush it up so would offer you vouchers etc.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Is the item something that is normally kept on shelf or behind a counter if the former then it could be a customer dumping the old box when they come into store to buy more I've seen this happen multiple times in place where I work, a hardware shop thou.0
