As it's not addressed to you, ignore it. If/when they start writing direct to you, then follow the same advice.0

Very reassuring advice - I'm still just slightly worried that they'd so easily let it pass without actually trying to get the money!0
-
That's how the scam works - they get the recipients of their increasingly unpleasant letters worried to the point they give in!0

Slight update - got a letter from CP Plus Limited today. In big red letters it threatens **FINAL REMINDER BEFORE LEGAL ACTION**.
If I don't pay within 7 days I am going to have a debt registered against me in a county court and a warrant may be issued to bailiffs to recover the payment. I'll also have to pay the court fees, the bailiff fees, and any legal costs and interest.
Another scare tactic I take it?0 -

Nope - as stated above, the "ticket" itself and also "photographic evidence" is quite meaningless. Just keep ignoring it.andrew-the-cat wrote: »Another scare tactic I take it?
Yup. Only respond to properly issued court papers (and verify with the court first) but don't hold your breath - The chances of them appearing are miniscule.0 -

Yes, that's another letter in the series.
Nothing to worry about at all, file it with the other one and tell all your friends about the scam of private parking tickets. Someone in my family also has a PPC sending letters to him/her at the moment and we are not at all concerned about their idle threats.
From reading other posts and other forums, it seems most PPCs send between 3 and 6 letters, proclaiming they are about to take you to Court - then they give up and move onto an easier victim.
It is shocking that this scam is 'allowed' to be played out - especially at service stations where drivers are told by the Government that they should stop and take a rest.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They have been careful with their wording. They are saying that the debt will be registered in the County Court and that a warrant may be issued....
They will be only too aware that a warrant can only be issued if they WON IN COURT.....
Take the advice on this forum under the private parking section and this should resolve the issue .
HOWEVER.....I personally was unaware that this can happen in these service areas. Only a week ago I did exactly the same after driving for 10 hours and noticed many other people having a snooze..zzzzzzz0 -
Letter arrived today - legal action is now pending. If I do not pay £120 within 7 days they are passing it to their legal department. Further legal and court costs may be added as well as interest on the amount I owe. If the matter is referred to their solicitors then they have the right to register the debt against me in a county court and seek to have a bailiff warrant issued to recover the debt.0

ALL BS, ignore again:beer:0 -
The legal department is probably a spotty faced work experience student. If you are worried about the advice, do a Google search for cases in which people have been taken to court by parking scammers and been made to pay up.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0
