Housing Benefit & Bank Holiday Monday?

Options
My Housing Benefit is due to in to my bank acount on the last Monday of the month. However this month it will be a Bank Holiday. Will the money go in on Friday? I was hoping it would have gone in this Monday but it didn't. I'm getting a bit worried as my rent goes out on the 27th which luckily is a Saturday this month. I pay roughly half myself and half is met by housing benefit. I won't have enough to cover it and I will overcook my overdraft. I spent most of Monday & Tuesday trying to phone them to ask without success.

Can't speak about Housing Benefit specifically, but usually any benefits due to be paid when a Bank Holiday falls are paid on the previous working day. Good Friday was paid on the Thursday for example.

There are usually notices up in the Post Office saying when benefits will be paid.

Do you pay your rent manually or by dd/so? To be on the safe side, I would contact your Landlord and advised them that it might be a day or so late due to the Bank Holiday. I am sure they will be okay with this as long as they have been informed in advance. Hopefully everything will be okay though as I would have thought that HB would be paid in on the working day prior to the bank holiday.
