    Wooohoooo!!!!!!!!!!!

    They paid up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well they paid me the IS that was paid in yesterday as it was inthe suspense account - and the C Tax Credit isn't showing yet but may be tomorrow so to come in and ask them again then.

Why could they not have given me the money yesterday? Well I didn't ask to have the funds from the suspense account I asked to have funds from the current account !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fingers crossed that I get the C Tax Credits tom and then the bills can be paid and the fridge filled up again.

Roll on TUesday to get the other issue sorted.

    You are all brilliant!!!!!!

Lady, I slaute you. You are one brave mama. I have several bank accounts after similar stunts by the bank years ago... nothing much changed there then! Keep a few pennies for a rainy day someplace handy.
    All the best

    Morning folks

Good news!! Eldest DS is back at school -so he will get a hot meal at lunchtime. More importantly he is feeling better even though he is still on his antibiotics.

Been to the bank - my C Tax Credits are not showing in my account or in the suspense account. But they were able to confirm that they haven't received them and sent them back. So tomorrow I have to go in again and see if the money is there.

I nearly didn't walk into the branch - I walked around outside for ages to pluck up the courage. I really felt humiliated, like I was going in to beg for my money.

I passed a charity shop and in the window they had a copy of a "A Woman of Substance" - - don't know if you know the story? But it is about a woman who never quits. So I pulled myself up by the bootstraps, marched in with my head held high. I think they call it "Acting as if" in personal developement books - LOL.

Wonder is I should change my name to "womanofsubstance" Hehe!!

Cos I was out and in a battling mood - I pushed the bubs through town the job centre and asked them to work out how much money I can go out and earn before it effects my benefits. I really don't want to rock the boat, just earn enough tokepp us eating. Apparently I can earn £20 per week before it effects my income support.

Soooooooo I thought I would walk out of town to one of the surrounding farms and ask if I could join the "Tattie picking" -(the work may be dirty but the money would be clean), but I thought that even if I could get someone to look after the baby it would be a week before I got paid anyway.

So I ran home and phoned a lady I know from my SW Slimming club (My Mum bought me a countdown ticket for 12 weeks so I'm not spending my money on what I think is a luxury). She admired a bag I was crocheting for my best friends Xmas (the wool came from a sweater I unravellled). Told her it was up for sale for £15.00 if she was interested - AND SHE IS!!

As soon as I log off here I am going to sew it up and put a liner in it and take it round to her at tea-time.

Wooooohooooooo!!! £15.00 that is going to go straight into building a stockcupboard a la OS Forum so that I am never stuck in the 71p to my name and no nappies in ever again.

Fingers crossed for C Tax monies in the morning.

Well done!!! You are so resourceful and resilient. Be very, very proud.

I'm glad your son is feeling better too. have you thought of contacting the press for a touch of naming and shaming? even if it was a letter to the money pages of one of the Sundays.

"I have never not paid my mortgage - but because I can't magic up £10k from thin air they are threatening to take our home. I'm not sure if they are just threatening or its actually going to happen" What :eek: - where have they got that from? do you owe 10K?

Also the fact your benefits were paid into your account despite you asking them not to - you may not have given them enough time.
"Oh!!! and they can't guarantee that the next payment will not be sent to the Clydesdale either" - what? how often do you get paid these benefits? surely they ave enough time to change it over.

I think you need to get the 1000 pounds back - a stern meeting with the bank manager and stiff complaint letter is needed I think.

Also with regards to the CCCS they will go through your budget with you. There is one here you can fill out so when they ask you what you pay for this that or the other you will know.

Basically you need a list of everything you pay -all your bills etc, all your incomings and everything you owe and in what capacity - ie private or business related debt etc. They will then be able to talk you through all the options ie whether to do a DRO, a dmp, IVA, bankruptcy, often token payments - keep going as you are - whatever.
You are already far ahead of the game in some respects are you have a new bank account, you are in the process or getting benefits etc transferred over, you already seem to be fab at budgeting (well you must be to have saved so much so carefully).
With respect to the whole are they just threatening to take the house thing - you can always phone National Debtline for advice or try and get back on the phone to CCCS - or you can email CCCS or send them a private message on here on psot on theire thread at the top of the dfw board.
Good Luck and I hope you get things sorted - you sound soooo determined so I'm sure you'll get there - despite the banks.

  • Hi there again.. when i get a proper chance i will read up to date on whats happening . but first off thanks for your kind words... just remember there is support out there.

Re bank account thats good news.. Its upsetting that ur having the hassle with the benefits getting lost tho... its awful. Is it worth contacting Social Work . Or womans aid ? maybe they could be useful sources of common sense support ?

Re CCCS , i had my telephone interview yesterday. I assume on ur initial fone call they took some details of income and expenditure. well they will firm up what ur budget looks like , a bit like the SOA here. IF you havent done one yet try it out and fill in everything you can think of . From my understanding of the next step . They send an email pack which details all they have discussed and work out if there is a way forward re paying creditors, Be best to figure out who u own wot to and get an uptodate balance from ur creditors also they will need addresses to write to on ur behalf and account or agreement numbers. So call them if you can or email them even

Hope that helps , keep me posted

    Happy
