Screw the train, take the bus!

I used to get the train daily with First Group from Bracknell to Maidenhead costing me £10 a day return. If I got a weekly ticket it would cost £45.30 therefore costing me about £200-£250 a month.
With a bus pass I now pay only £72 a month. Its a bit quicker to get there, plus its a direct bus. I can go anywhere inbetween and its unlimited travel. Thats a saving of £150 + a month!
The train is such a rip off, I will never use it again unless I have to.

Why did you never buy a monthly which wouldve worked out cheaper than weeklys or better still an annual for which you would only pay for 40 weeks and get 12 weeks FREE travel..
Fair enough if the bus is quicker, but just like the railways there will be a time when your sat in a bad bit of traffic not being able to stretch your legs wishing you got the train..

Because £72 a month is better than £174 a month...? I used to live in Sandhurst and hated it. Train came hourly and I would never get notified of cancellations. The worse time was when I waited 3 hours to get home. My partner had to come and collect me from Wokingham. VIVA LA BUS!0

I never use public transport.

FirstGroup probably own the buses anyhow so you may still be lining their pockets!0

FirstGroup own all the transport in my area but I am happy with my huge saving! Whats even better is that they also run an exclusive bus service which goes directly to my house where I live on a new housing development! BONUS!
I worked it out whether its worth it to put my car back on the road and its not. I only pay £2.50 a day return to go between Bracknell and Maidenhead. Costs me next to nothing if I want to go to Reading also. Good times!0 -

Its amazing how you have had one bad time stuck on a train and now judge all trains to be taking just as long. Next time the bus is stuck in a bit of traffic after an RTA or something then do comeon here and tell us

That's just one example! I took the train from Sandhurst to Maidenhead for over a year. Everyday for about a week one time the train was late or cancelled without notification. Sandhurst station is a neglected station, the screens never work, the ticket machine hardly works. Reading station is too busy and the conductors like to send the trains off early, plus my main qualm is that its unnecessarily expensive!0
