im so stupid!

let someone i know use my ebay account to put some items on ebay. Kept her in the loop about listing fees etc. She now owes £25 and is refusing to answer calls / door to me. This is someone i have known for YEARS. Ive texted her and said if she cant afford to pay it back right now then to let me know when she can.

Apart from getting on at her through texts (which she isnt replying to!) anything else i can do?

(i know i know, im stupid - never doing it again!)

Did the item actually sell? Or is the £25 the listing fees and it didn't sell?

What a nightmare for you! I don't think you're stupid. You thought you were helping a long-term friend out but if she actually accessed your eBay account, rather than you listing on her behalf in your account, then can I suggest you change your password ASAP if you haven't already done so? Same with your PayPal account if neccessary.

I would never let anyone use my Ebay account to sell stuff as if it all goes wrong its your responsibility. To be honest its not that diffcult to set one up and if they do not have a computer or the know how there are plenty of places that well sell on their behalf.

your not stupid, have done it myself, though I did all the listings for my friend. You think your doing a favour for a long term friend you can trust and you end up feeling like a bailiff cos they wont pay you back and you've had to stump up the money for them. My friend has been paying me back on the drip for the last 8 months!! finally down to her owing me £3.84. agree with juju, change your passwords asap

  • Sorry should have made that clear - She used my ebay but I put the items on there so she doesnt know my password. Yes her items sold but they was all cash on collection so can not even take it off there

Since she is ignoring me, my cousin has spoken to her and apprently she will be dropping the money round on Thursday although I wont hold my breath. She did want me to put more items on (this was before i found out she wasnt going to pay) and im just glad i said no.

I shall see what happens Thursday but Ive learnt a valueable lesson - trust no one when it comes to money!
