Sorry there is no other help available for you then :(
When your partner moves in you are considered a couple so therefor instead of your single benefits everything gets moved onto joint benefits to take his income into consideration. Unfortunatly as he does pay maintenence you cannot take this out of his income when giving his details. So if he earns £1000 per month and pays £200 to his ex he cant say his income per month is only £800 iykwim! You need to give exact details regardless of maintenence payments or any debt owed!
You should still be entitled to help towards rent payments but it wont be as much as what you used to get, but as he is now going to be contributing it shouldnt be too much of a problem!
Same with tax credits, they might go down also!
Good luck with your new family :)
